Karate?

Dear Little Bird,

You’ve got me stumped.  Lately you run around the house yelling, “Kah-raw-tee, kah-raw-tee, kah-raw-tee, YEAH!” I can’t tell if you are trying to be a super-hero or a crazy person.  Which one is it?

And if you are trying to be a super-hero, which one are you trying to be?  And how do you know about super-heroes anyway?

If you are trying to be a crazy person…  Well, let’s not get into that.

You are super silly.  And I love it.

Sticky Notes

Dear Little Bird,

The little notes you have been leaving around the house?  LOVE. THEM.  Learning to spell and write whatever you want to?  Isn’t it so fun?!

When I came around the corner last night and saw the note on your door, I just stood there smiling and tried not to wake you up with my laughter.  I love your funny ways.

And when you told me exactly what your note meant this morning?  That it was a picture meant to scare Little Tiger to send her to heaven to see God and then to come back and tell you what she saw – well, that part I didn’t really get.  But I love your imagination.  Keep it up, my girl.

The Meeting

Dear Little Bird,

Recently it’s been a bit hard for your dad and I to have any… alone time.  Most of our “alone” time takes place during naps, locked in the bathroom.  While the bathroom has its uses, the bathroom is hardly an ideal place for intimate moments.

The other night when I put you to bed, I explained to you that dad and I were going to have a business meeting in our room with the doors locked.  I allowed you to stay up and read and promised that I would check on you after our meeting.

After the meeting (and what a lovely meeting it was) I checked on you, put your books away and said good night.

The next day, in your pretend play with Little Tiger, I overheard you informing her that,

“Today’s meeting will take place tonight in our room.  Please remember to lock the door”.

What a giggle you gave me.

Where Am I?
